Deep Space Nine

Welcome to DS9. Doorway to the Gamma Quadrant. Star Fleet and the
Bajoran people hope your stay here is enjoyable.

While the Cardassian's occupied Bajor they built a mining station called
Torak Nor. After all the resources were depleted they abandond the station
and retreated from the region. Star Fleet assumed control of the station at
the request of the Bajoran government. They re-named the station DS9.

Soon after taking over the station a stable wormhole was discovered close to
Bajor. The wormhole connectes the Alpha Quadrant to the Gamma Quadrant.
DS9 was moved closer to defend and explore the new found resource.

The wormhole was not quite the gift the Bajoran people thought it was.
They soon came in contact with a powerful alliance of planetary groups
called the Dominion. The Dominion was established by the reclusive
Founders, who control hundreds of races. The Dominion has become
one of the largest threats the Alpha Quardant has ever seen.

If you haven't seen this show yet I encourage you to watch an episode
or two. I enjoy it. Check it out for yourself.

The only complaint I have is that they have done too many "Mirror"
universe episodes. Based on an idea from the Original series. Anyone
else agree? Other then that I think the show is great.

Over time the show did get better. Sadly they cancelled it.
Now Voyager is the only active series left. We'll have to
see what they do.
